2016 Smash for Wii U rewind

Credits

It’s already the end of the year. The last majors ended in an exciting way. With upsets, new players comming into the highlight  (mostly using Ryu, coincidence ?) and new characters, like Nairo's Bowser, coming into play.
The community is also on its toe for the incoming Nintendo Switch and the 2GG circuit.
For sure, 2017 will be a great year, with stories, new techs, meta disruption and memorable events.

But before we dive into next year, let's take a last look back at this year, and remember the best (and worst) of 2016.

Smash diary : November 2016

I went to Smash down world, and my god, it was an awesome event.

I exit the tournament with a quick 0-2. But I was glad of my performance.

The first set was against a Yoshi. He takes the advantage on the first game quickly, but I almost manage to make a come back. So I was still confident I could take the match.
I switch to Dark pit for the second game, it is tensed for the whole game and I end up winning the game with a release ledge - Fair reads which I punish with side B.
It quickly takes the advantage the third game and I eventually SD.
At the end of the game, I was still glad on how I played since I won my first game in a tournament !

The second set was against a Cloud.
He quickly bodies me the first game. I was pretty discusted at the end of the game.
But I manage to draw first blood on the secon set which gives me a lot of confident back. I manage to carry that momentum to take a 3 lifes to 1 lead. But he makes the come back : He swips my first life since it was at high percent. And unfortunatly I sucked during the second stock and he ends up taking it almost for free. He eventually takes my last stock. I was a bit disappointed to get come backed on.

But congrats to my opponents.

I then alternane between friendlies and looking at the stream set up.
I've seen an European Shulk fight Kameme and a French Jigglypuff face Komoriki. Both of them did well so it was very fun to watch.
I've also seen Glutonny versus  Kameme, everybody on internet probably heard about it and yes, it was extremly hype.

I live the first day very happy. I had fun in friendlies and tournament was already extremly hype so far.

Day two I play mostly friendlies until the streams begin.

I watched tons of hype games : Glutonny versus Anti, Kameme vs Anti with Kameme puling another Wario and Anti pulling Charizard vs Komoriki in grand final.

Smash down world was the best event I've been to so far ! I am really looking forward more tournaments of this caliber in Europe.
